5 ways To Relieve Stress For A Student On A Budget

We’ve all been through it, living it, and trying to survive it. You want me to say it? Student Budget. You were probably sitting in front of your computer screen like me stalking fashion blogger and traveling accounts wishing you were living the “bougie” life. But you don’t have the funds to support yourself for all of that which adds a bit more stress to your life.

Well my friends, I can help you get out of that slump you’ve been feeling after looking at all of these posts. You need to understand that in order to look as amazing on the outside as these lovely ladies you see on these sites, understand that you also need to be mentally happy. This is where I come to the rescue to give you 5 amazing fool proof methods to pamper yourself on a college budget.

1. Tired And Aching Feet

Marilyn Monroe once said “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” This is large part of the fundamental idea of my equation.  (Feet + hard shoes = Pain)  When your feet are hurting you are aware of this pain and constantly distracted, especially when you get home from work/school/social events.

We’ve all been there, taking off those shoes and still feel the throbbing and redness of dear old feet. We sometimes take our feet for granted and need to pamper them, so begin investing in a two pairs of shoes. I am proud to say that I am a shoe repeater!

Once I find something I love I will constantly wear them. For school or when I want to keep my feet warm I always wear my trusty white chucks, they are totally fashionable but lets me get to where I need to be.

I recently won a great contest on Instagram from @Prisprism (check her out!) for some VeganHeels & Wedges from Blowfish Malibu . You always have the option of entering contests like me or scout for cheap strap ons.

I love investing in Forever 21 sandals whenever I can for about $15 I’ve worn them most of my life and they last for more than a year! But remember to get off your feet once in awhile to let them relax, because believe me, you’ll need them for a long time.

2. Movie and Chill?

I personally love this option whenever I am feeling uninspired or need to get away from everything. I prepare myself with some great microwavable popcorn from my pantry and put on some Korean face masks as I browse through the net with some good ol’ Korean variety show.

Running Man in English subtitles available for you in clips on Youtube. I’ve hurt my cheeks so much from laughing for hours watching this. “Laughter is the best medicine” correct? As cliché as it is, it gives me the perfect vibe after a long week.

3. Eat Smart or Eat Fun!

You are on your rest day at home and do not want to get out. On the other hand you want to get on your feet and do something (not exercise).  This is my mood every time I have a rest day. No matter what, my kitchen will always have apples and bananas. (Reminding you of the song “I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas”) Great! Now I have that song stuck in your head for the next few hours!

Hopefully you have milk, honey, yogurt in your fridge, and hopefully a few other fruits in your fridge like strawberries or blueberries.

What you need to do is chop up two bananas, one apple, and a handful of blueberries or strawberries, one cup of milk, a tablespoon of honey, and a tablespoon of yogurt then mix together.

After they are all well blended in a blender, add a cup of ice and continue blending to how much you prefer it to be. These smoothies go well with pretzels or just about any snacks. Enjoy it during my step 2 tip or wait till you get to my step 5 tip!

4. LIGHTS, MUSIC, ACTION!

Be your own fashion model in your own room with the music pumped up! I’m a student, at the moment so I gotta pay off all those textbooks for school! You have clothes in your closet so why not pair it up with one another?

Try on mix and matches that you have never paired together before! At the end of this, I’ve reorganized my entire closet and finding clothes that I forgot existed! Plus it’s a huge workout;

I’ve worked off such a sweat putting on and off the clothes and can’t help myself from singing while dancing to the music that’s on shuffle.

5. Get ‘Lit With Books!

It’s finally the end readers so I should be allowed to use such a cheesy pun lol. In Layman’s terms, what I actually meant was to light a scented candle and read a book. I love bath and body works sales during holidays. Make sure to download the app! Sometimes they give out amazing deals!

I enjoy reading, books transports you into a different world and lets your mind take you on a journey to whatever you are reading.

I love reading motivational books or even simple pleasures of fantasy novels, one that I especially LOVE is from a series called

“The Mortal Instruments.” By Cassandra Clare.

Whatever it is that you read, find a perfect spot that is so comfy that you don’t feel sore from where you are sitting by the end.

All right you lovely readers on a budget! Hopefully you take at least one of these tips of mine to consideration and make yourself feel fashionably beautiful inside and out!
